Populating Table with DB Lookup

asked on May 11, 2017 Show version history

I'm trying to populate a table in forms using a field above it (WS Section) in the When condition.  The problem is that I can only see the table columns as options for selecting criteria in the When condition.  How do I go about using this field prior to my table as the key for my lookup to populate the table?

End result I'm looking for is after choosing Environmental under WS Section radio button, to see five rows for Environmental that show 100-General, 200-Air, 300-Liquid, 400-Misc, one blank in my table.

Please advise, thanks.

The lookup rule only support limited types of fields: single line/dropdown/number/date/currency/email as it is more difficult to add support for other types. But add radio button support for lookup is already in our features requests list and we will consider implement it in future version.

Hi Michelle,

You can add a single line and use javascript to populate it with your WS Section.

Then you could use this single line in your condition.

Olivier,  Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, but I really wanted to do this without javascript.
Since you indicated it worked with a single line field, I tried it with a drop down and this works!  I can use it to select the correct Section to populate the table with the remaining section/series information.

Thanks!

For our Laserfiche folks, why doesn't this work with the radio button selection?

Many thanks for the update on the status of which fields are supported and the possible addition of radio buttons as future feature.
