Question

Link to an existing LF document on a Form in Mobile

asked on May 10, 2017

I have an installation of Form Server 10.2 with Mobile App 10.2.

I would like to have an Invoice Approval form that is opened on IOS device inside the Mobile App, on this form will be a link to an existing PO in the Laserfiche Repository.

I am using the following URL inside the form to test;

<a href="lfmobiles://lfserver:443/Laserfiche/index.aspx?db=Repo#id=71046;view=browse">Mobile Link</a>

When I click on it, it opens another screen to Google.

If I click on the URL from outside of Mobile App like in an email it opens the App and directly opens the document.

Any help would be appreciated.....

Cheers

Ross

In version 10.4 this functionality remains the same, that Mobile Forms is "unaware" of the repository. Our situation is case files, where there is a form to fill out various information that then generates documents via WF Mail Merge. The "Submit" button on the form is used to save the data and (re)generate the files while they are still in progress. It loops back as a user task indefinitely until the "Approve" button is clicked to finalize things.

I have a Web Access link on the form that works well enough to review the generated docs while using a desktop browser. Trying to use the mobile link syntax, as mentioned in the original post, just doesn't work. There is no easy way to get from the form to the documents in the repository when using Mobile.

I hope there has been some work done on this front, but if not, I am requesting it. Thank you.

Hello Ross,

Would you be able to fully elaborate your complete use case with incorporating a link to an entry in the repository? As you noted, there is no out of the box feature nor was this considered at the moment. However if you can provide a detailed example as to how you/your corporation will utilize such a use-case/feature, it will enable the Mobile Team to have a better understanding to try to meet the needs requested.

Thank you
