Question

Windows account now s numbers

asked on April 27, 2017

Hello all,

I just got a server back up and running. The old one when down but their IT saved the volume files and DB. After getting the software installed and DB restored. Everything is working except the windows accounts are now all weird. It looks like this;

I upgraded them to 10.2 hoping that would fix the names but it didn't. Any idea on how to resolve the accounts or do I have to readd the Windows accounts back manually? Thanks.

Did the domain get replaced?  When the users are listed as User IDs rather than the account names, it means that the User ID can not be resolved from the Domain Controller.  Usually, this indicates that the account was removed from Active Directory when it is just a single account, but when it is all accounts, it usually indicates that the Domain Controller was replaced/rebuilt or is off line.  If the Domain Controller was replace/rebuilt, then the User IDs will have changed and you will need to reassign them.
