Question

Client installation with PDQ Deploy

asked on April 27, 2017

Hello,

As a test, I've been trying to install the 10.2 client on one of our desktops via PDQ Deploy free version. I'm trying to see if I can get this to work prior to upgrading our server and Clients to 10.2. However, regardless of what combination of silent parameters I use within PDQ, or a batch file, it always seems to time out. I know that PDQ and the connection to the test box work fine as I've successfully installed a few different applications that way.

Does anyone here have successful experience installing the Laserfiche Client via PDQ Deploy?

Thanks,

Michael

What is the command with arguments that you are trying to use to install?

Hi Bert,

I've tried the following:

  • -noUI -iacceptlicenseagreement INSTALLLEVEL=300
  • -silent -iacceptlicenseagreement -lang en INSTALLLEVEL=300
  • -silent -noUI -iacceptlicenseagreement INSTALLLEVEL=300
  • -silent
  • -noUI
  • -silent -noUI

Thanks,

Michael

None of them posted a solution (though one of them had success with using a batch file with PDQ), but an Answers Search for PDQ Deploy returns your question along with 2 others, so it may be that PDQ Deploy has an issue with the LF installer.  Maybe post to the other questions to see if they found a solution.

Aye, I'd read those posts prior to adding my own, but thank you.

Hi Micheal, just wondered if you ever found a way to get this working?

Hi Ben,

I did manage to have some success. Instead of passing the install parameters straight through the app, I ended up creating a batch file and putting them in there.

Thanks,

Michael
