Question

See New Document Settings

asked on April 26, 2017 Show version history

I am not able to see Tools>Options>New Documents>Settings in my client. I already have Process feature right. What else do I need to be able to see this option please?

Thanks

Looks like you're logged in as a read-only user.

Thanks. Are you saying that the user does not have any write access to repository?

The user, either through its profile or the profile of a group it is a member of, is assigned the Read Only attribute.

With this attribute, the user can only read in the repository and therefore cannot create new documents so has no New Document options.

Thanks. Where is this screen shot from?

This is set on the user or group properties in the Laserfiche server administration console.

In the Laserfiche Administration Console at the bottom of the General tab of a user and/or group profile.

That setting is not enabled for the user. Is there any other reason for this?

The Read Only attribute can be on the user or any group the user is a member of.

Thanks. We checked the user and the groups the user is a member of. That property is not set anywhere.

Thanks

This is also the behavior if the user is allocated a retrieval-only user license.

Thanks, the user has a full license assigned.
