Question

Connector Technology

asked on April 25, 2017 Show version history

Hi All,

I've had a question from a customer which asked what is the technology called behind the connector?

It's obviously a glorified screenscraper that can interact with applications GUI's. But what is the name of the technology behind the scenes that allows this. Workflow obviously uses Windows Workflow Foundation etc.

Doesn't make any functional difference I know, more from a sales/informational point of view.

Cheers!

For windows desktop applications, it uses UI Automation. For Java applications, it uses Java Access Bridge. For web applications it hooks directly into the browser and accesses the DOM tree. The OCR method uses Tesseract OCR.
