Username or password is incorrect when trying to access LF Web Access

asked on April 23, 2017 Show version history

Hi all,

I am currently on v 10.2 rio version and when trying to use web access using the ADMIN account (i.e the LF account). It is saying user name or password is incorrect when trying to login to Web access. Please note that both on the server and on a machine, I am unable to connect but I am still able to access LF Client using the same account.

I have checked the web access configuration and both Laserfiche and Windows accounts have 'Allowed' access. Also, it seems that the problem is with the connection options in the Web Access configuration page.

Thanks to advise on the connection options as I will have some users who will connect using Laserfiche credentials and some will be using Windows credentials. Which option will best fit this mixed credentials.

Having some users log in with domain credentials and others with Windows credentials means that one class of users needs to explicitly indicate which authentication method they want to use.  In your case, Web Access is assuming that the credentials provided are valid on the domain that you indicated when you configured it.  In order to override that and have Web Access interpret the username as a repository user, you can prepend with a backslash like "\Admin".  Conversely, if you tell Web Access to log users in with repository credentials, domain users would need to specify the domain like "domain\fname.lname".

Admin is often a special case and so that can just be a matter of educating administrative users to add the backslash.  What is your use case for having some users log in with repository users?
