I have one user who is getting a 6568 error (Volume can't be found) when pasting in a briefcase we use for new clients. Other users in her group don't receive the error, so I don't believe it is tied to any access rights. This happens in all the folders she has access to, though she has no problem creating a new folder, just pasting one in. We are on client version 9, and I have tried reinstalling the LF client and getting her another copy of the briefcase. Any thoughts?

So, after logging back in as me the problem replicated on my profile as well. So, I detached and reattached the repository and voila, no more error when pasting. The same fix worked for her as well. Thanks for the input!

Have you checked if there is a volume set on the folder where the Briefcase is being imported? Or have you tried to change their Import settings to point to a specific volume?

Here's another wrinkle: We use domain creds to authenticate in LF, so as a test I logged into my machine as the user and went into my install of LF. The problem replicated on my computer.
