Unable to view service users when the directory group has been registered to the LFDS user group

Hi all,

I am currently using LF 10.2. I am configuring users' groups in LFDS. My issue is that when I have created a group (for instance, Group A) and register a directory group to it. I am unable to view the AD user in that group A even though, I have selected the ' Show service users'. Please advise how I can view these users in that group and recommend the best way to assign licenses to AD users.

A case was opened for this issue. This is working as designed. When adding a directory (i.e. Windows) group to an LFDS group, only the group is added but individual users from that group will not be displayed. Service users refer to registered applications and are not related to this question.

In future, do not begin an Answers thread and open a Support case unless asked to do so in one or the other, to avoid duplication of steps or incomplete troubleshooting history.

To elaborate, there are two uses for added an AD group to an LFDS group:

  • Allowing synchronization of a specific AD group to Forms without manually maintaining the AD users membership in the LFDS group
  • Easier security management

 

If you wish to use AD groups for licensing in LFDS, you have two options:

  • Use an AD Group Synchronization rule to have LFDS automatically update the licensing based on group membership (recommended)
  • Manually add the members of the AD group once from the new account page (will not update if group membership changes)
