Question

Exporting documents with the original creation date

asked on April 14, 2017

Good Afternoon,

I am working with a client who is currently going through an audit. Their 3rd party auditors requested about 40 documents for review. My client is able to export the documents but they do not have the original create date. The auditors must have the original creation date. But the auditors refuse to access laserfiche to obtain the information. Any suggestions on how to export with a creation date or time stamp on the exported documents?

Thank you

Is this with the windows client, or the web client? are you exporting the electronic file, or the document pages? The windows client will set the creation/modified time when you export an electronic file (the modified time is the electronic file last modified time). The web client doesn't have control over the timestamps on the files downloaded by the browser.

You can create a report that includes the creation/modified timestamps and include that with the actual documents. How to do that depends on whether you are using the windows or web client.

Your description sounds like what we need. My client is using the Windows Thick client 10.

Thanks!

Hi William,

If you need to get the created date to display on each document, you could create a business process in Workflow that retrieves the created date field value and inserts it into an annotation like a sticky note for each document in the relevant folder.

If you decide to give this a shot, please let me know if it works out!

Thank you,

Rob
