Question

FormsConfig site security

asked on April 11, 2017

Please help to understand Forms Configuration site security.

By default only built-in administrators of the Forms machine can access the configuration site (from post http://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/72730/HTTP-Error-4010--Unauthorized#72765 ).

Where access to Forms Configuration site control from? How to enable windows domain group to access this site?

Forms configuration help also suggest to "Configure IIS to hide the FormsConfig site after you complete the configuration process to prevent unauthorized users from viewing the site." How to do that? How unauthorized users can view this site if only Forms server local administrators group have access to it?

Only the users belong the to the local administrators  group of the Forms machine can access Forms configuration site. You can open the Local Users and Groups settings on the machine and add the windows group to be member of the Administrators group to enable that group access the Forms configuration site.

Unauthorized users can't view the Forms configuration site, so you don't need to hide the site actually. We will update the help.
