WebLink and possible browser cache issue?

asked on April 10, 2017 Show version history

Our Laserfiche WebLink (v10) in tandem with Internet Explorer (v11) sometimes unexpectedly retrieves documents from the wrong repository.  Our organization has been using Laserfiche for more than 15 years. We currently use LF and LF WebLink to serve docs from a few repositories. Has anyone else seen the problem whereby links erroneously point to (or open) the wrong repository/document?  I don’t know whether clearing the end-user's browser cache will help. Thank you in advance for comments/advice on how to resolve the issue, Alan

What "links" are you referring to that the users are clicking on? Are these generated somehow? If so, it sounds like some of them might have the wrong database ID, which is part of the URL.

Thanks for your reply. The unique links are generated properly by LaserFiche and therefore contain the correct DBID for each document (or folder) in the URL/URI. It's just that some users report that when they click from among various links (especially when those links point to different DBs) the browser opens a folder/file originating from a DB that had been opened previously, In other words, it's as if the browser loads from cache rather than from the link that had actually been clicked. To my knowledge, we aren't using any proxy servers in between browser and Laserfiche/web servers. I've not been able to reproduce the quirky "error", but I can contact the end-user to see whether the problem persists. Thanks again! If you have any other ideas, please share.
