Laserfiche App Crashing When Selecting MetaData Button

Hello,

 

We are having issues with the Laserfiche App, when we go into a document and select the metadata button the app crashes. We thought it maybe the dynamic fields in the template so we removed them and no change, the app still crashes. We have removed each field from the template (one by one) and tested the same document over and over and it still crashes every time. We are on version 10.1 and 10.2 (in our test environment) and the app crashes on both. We have tried the newest version of the app and still no success.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello Steve,

 

1) for clarification, within the App, if you slide your screen from left to right or press the top left overflow, scroll down to settings > Version, can you list the version of the Laserfiche App?

2) which OS is this on? Android, iOS, Windows?

3) any additional information such as Android OS version, device, etc.

We weren't able to immediately recreate this issue on our end, so we were hoping to get more information via the version/OS that you're using.

4)" We are on version 10.1 and 10.2 (in our test environment) " is this referring to the Laserfiche App Server? would you please provide the Laserfiche App Server version as well?

Hi Andrew,

 

Thanks for your reply, below is the info you requested:

 

1) Laserfiche App Version (10.2.2.901)

2) The O/S on the phone is iOS (10.2.1)

3) The device was an Apple iPhone 6S

4) Laserfiche App Server Version (10.2.0.471)

 

Sorry what I meant when I stated 10.2 in our test environment (we upgraded all applicable products to the latest available release package/download from Laserfiche (10.2))

Hello Steve,

 

Thank you for the information, would you be able to open a Support Case, with our Support Team, so we can perhaps get a briefcase of the template/document and other relevant items/information, and troubleshoot from there?

Just wondering if there was a specific resolution for this?  We have several clients over the past week that have reported this exact same thing happening, but it only started happening after the most recent release that was put out.  We just upgraded 1 of the clients Mobile server to the most recent version hoping that would resolve the issue for them, but unfortunately it didn't.  So at this point we are willing to give anything a try if someone was able to resolve this succussfully.

We made sure our Mobile App server was at the most recent version, however it never resolved the issue. It wasn't until we installed the most recent update for the Laserfiche App (iOS) that was released on July 13, 2017 which fixed our issue.

Try checking to see if your smartphone app has the most recent version/update.

That's funny, because it seems as if that is the version these users installed on their devices and then the crash started happening to them.  I appreciate the reply.
