Scanning Error - Web Client & Metadata

asked on April 6, 2017 Show version history

Hi all,

After upgrading to 10.2, we have been having issues scanning new pages into documents that have both a template and individual fields as metadata. The following error messages only occur in Web Client and not while scanning with the Windows Client.

Click on [store] or [store all] in the Laserfiche scanning window and the following error messages display:

 Output Log:

Document Manager:

Unsure if this is a bug with web client.

Is there anyone who can test this and see if they have the same result?

Conditions:
- Document with template assigned as well as additional fields not included in the template
- Open the file in web client and scan into it using laserfiche scanning
- click on [store all]

Thank you in advance,

Stephanie

For anyone else who is experiencing this issue, it has been identified as a bug.

Hotfix coming in the next release.

We are encountering this same issue in our organization. As a temp workaround, I have our users scan the sheets into a separate file and then merge the two documents. Waiting for the hotfix.

Our scanner operators have limited permissions. As a workaround, we have a folder dedicated for adding content into existing files. The workflow associated with this folder matches the temp file's name to a unique identifier in the metadata of the existing file. It then merges the pages.

As an update, this issue has been fixed in the recently released Web Client 10.2.1. After installing the latest version, you should be able to scan into documents containing both templates and independent fields without error.
