Internal SSL error [1366] when trying to log into repository using Admin Console

asked on April 6, 2017

Hi All,

I'm getting the above error after configuring SSL with Laserfiche server. I followed the steps from admin guide to enable SSL with Laserfiche server. Was able to login into repo via admin console with no erros but now i'm getting an error. I can still login into the repo with no errors using Laserfiche thick client and web access via SSL but getting an error using Admin console. All other communications to the repo are working fine. The server has valid trusted root and server certificate installed.

Please open a support case so that we can get trace logs to help diagnose the problem. Specifically, enable LFSO tracing in the windows client (Help->About->Tracing), restart the LF admin console and reproduce the problem. Inside those log should be more details about the SSL failure.

Thanks Robert, the logs from the tracing helped me to resolve the issue.

All sorted now.

Can you share the solution in case someone else runs into the same problem?

I had to re-register the Laserfiche server with FQDN in the admin console as the logs were showing the local server name only.

I could never find any errors in the trace log other then the same message over and over "Internal SSL error", using a matching friendly name of the certificate did not work either. Trying to reach out to support to see where in the world this error is found.
