Question

Question

Sort order no longer being remembered

asked on April 4, 2017

We just upgraded to Laserfiche 10.2.  We are using the Web Client.

I have two issues related to columns...

First, It use to be that when we setup the columns using the column picker and then sorted on a column, Laserfiche would remember this information when returning to the list.  Now it is remembering the columns picked but it does not remember the sort order.

What the columns look like before I select another folder...

What the columns look like when I return to folder...

Notice it is no longer sorted by Creation date.

Second, I cannot find how to Load/Save profiles anymore?  The instructions say to right-click on the header but this is the menu I see when I right-click...

Hi, Gene,

We've been able to reproduce your first issue, and we have filed 156224. This fix will be available in the 10.2.1 release which is targeted for the end of this month.

For your second issue, you can Save a column profile from the Column Picker dialog (that first option from your screenshot):

And to load up an existing column profile, you can select one from the Display Options dropdown:

Thanks for your feedback. Cheers!

I am going to go on a rant for a second.

I am a software developer and have been for 31 years.  I can't imagine how it is possible to let a bug like this get through your testing.   This is basic functionality that should be part of EVERY stage of testing.  These types of bugs are unacceptable!

I am really frustrated with the fact that every time we upgrade to a new version there is a whole new set of bugs that we have to deal with.  Just once I would like to do an upgrade without having to watch and wait for the next release.

I see a new version of Laserfiche has been released but this bug does not show up in the list of fixes.  Has this been fixed in v10.2.1?
