Laserfiche 9 - hiding folders

asked on April 4, 2017

Hi -

I'm trying to hide the "Archived" folder from a group of users and so far have not had much luck.   Here are the things I have tried:

  • Admin Console - Users & Groups - Everyone - Rights - assigned privileges - uncheck "Bypass Browse"
  • Laserfiche - Entry Access - Access rights to "Archived" folder
    • Admin group - allow all rights - scope folder, subfolders & documents
    • user1 - allow all rights - scope folder, subfolders & documents
    • user2 - deny all rights - scope folder, subfolders & documents

"User2" should not be able to see / browse the "Archived" folder.

Thank you for your assistance.

Does user 2 have the 'manage entry access' privilege? That gives a user the ability to browse to all entries to manage their security. That's a pretty powerful privilege, so if that's the case you'll want to look into who else has it.

No, user2 does not have 'manage entry access' privilege.

I just found it.  User2 was member of a group that had 'manage entry access' privilege. Thank you!

The group also had 'bypass browse' privilege.  Removing these 2 privileges hid the folder.
