Does Import Agent move a file from a monitored folder into Laserfiche if the file is still open?

Hi Team, 

 

Just wanted to confirm if this would be the case? The client has shared documents that are being used by a few users at any one time. 

 

We would like to know if:

  1. What if that shared doc is left open? – Will it still save to LF?
  2. What if it’s closed but users are still showing as being in it (like below).  Will it still save/backup?

 

 

Please advise?

Hi Ziad,

 

I checked the feature of share workbook, and file is not locked if the workbook is using/showing. Import agent 10 tries to schedule it to import if the file is not locked by anyone, so the file will be imported to repository.

Thank you for the response, so basically it should still be able to import the file if it is open?

Hi Ziad,

Yes, I think so. If the file is not modified by anyone in last several minutes (an option), the file will be imported.
