LFForms - terminated 'ghost' submissions

asked on April 3, 2017 Show version history

A client of ours is encountering an issue where there seem to be 'ghost' submissions of one of their Forms Business Processes. These submissions are terminated by Forms. Some of these occur after working hours when none of the users are in the system. See screenshot below of the terminations.

The affected form is not Public. The users had to login to forms to access the Form for submission. What I noticed about the terminated forms are that they don't contain any field data and show multiple terminations of submissions by the same set of users with same Start time and Last Updated Time.

This is the corresponding IIS logs for this duration... Shortened it. Any ideas on this?

Can you check whether there is corresponding log in the event log? Did the Laserfiche Forms Routing Service restarted at that time? Is there any displayed in the when view error log for the instance in the Instances table?

The logs that correspond to the terminations are below. For some unknown reason, most of the times, we are unable to find any corresponding logs.

UPDATE: The issue occurred with another user. That user mentioned that she'd first save the form as a draft , then went back to complete it. Client IT reached out to affected users and by the time of this update, 3 out of 5 that responded so far mentioned they all have saved the form first as a draft. And then completed it later (submitted/sent).

Is it possible to run a query on the database for the off-chance that there are remnant drafts that are causing this issue?

Please open a support case  with a copy of your database, we will provide a query to resume the instance.
