Question

Security on Forms Account

asked on March 31, 2017

Is there anyway to lockdown the account page in Forms. I want to make sure the users keep their username and account name set up a certain way. How can I lockdown those fields in forms?

Your question is a bit confusing. Can you provide a screenshot of what page or field you want to lock down? I would love to help.

This is the account page in Forms. You have a username and an Account Name. Notice the username field is greyed out. I want to also lockdown the Account Name.

Thanks for the screenshot. What version of Forms are you running? To find that out go to your name and hit About.

Also are you Avante or RIO?a

Finally and you using Repository Users or Windows Accounts? This can be found by looking in the admin console.

When i look at my Account page all my information is locked out, most likely because we are using Windows Accounts. It looks like you are using Repository Users by the looks of your screenshot.

Rio 10.2. These are forms participant licenses.

I don't believe the account field can be locked out since they are setup with Participant Licenses. I looked at one of our clients that has those licenses and I see the same account page as you are seeing.

Maybe Presales can jump in and confirm.

If not, I hope they add that option. Because a change in Account Name could cause a problem. I am using a dropdown list with names to create user tasks.

It's still unclear to me: when you say "Account Name", what are you referring to? The full name? If so, what are your concerns with allowing users to update their full name?

The name field under the Accounts. We wouldn't want that to change because we use a drop down list that pulls from that name to assign user task. We wouldn't want that to change without our doing so.

Because forms doesn't have a built in User Field we are using a dropdown list to select names.
