Question

Tasks rename itself when editing?

asked on March 21, 2017

Has anyone experience this- on an already saved and setup Process, when you edit Save to Repository Task the Task Name defaults back to "Service Task" and Document name defaults back to the default naming convention. Similar thing happens on Email Tasks when I attempt to edit them, the task Name changes back to "Service Task".

This has been happening in 10.1 and is happening in 10.2 (10.2.0.834) as well. It make is pretty hard to work on Processes. Does anyone know of a fix?

I just started to experience this also.   I have been using Forms, Chrome and Last Pass for 3+ years and have never had this happen until this week.

I only have one Last Pass entry setup for our Forms server and that is directed specifically to the login page.   I found that selecting 'Disable AutoFill' option in the Advanced Settings for this entry prevents the issue and still allows me to login to Forms with Last Pass.

The last pass icon/options disappears from fields once set:

I know this is an older post but was glad to have found the issue that was posted.
Thanks!!

Maybe try a different browser?  I haven't had this same problem, but I have had some unusual things happen (indefinate loading, failure to save) when using Internet Explorer, whereas the same issues do not occur for me with Google Chrome.

Just a thought...

I use Chrome almost exclusively and in the morning I usually don't have any issues but in the afternoon all tasks start doing those goofy things. When it starts happening I have seen the same issues on Firefox.

Ugh, that's yucky.

So you keep the browser open and modify the same process for a couple of hours?

I keep the browser open and would close tabs on different forms and reopen to modify different processes. I don't think it is a timeout issue but let me validate that for you - when it happens again, I will close the tab and the browser and see if that helps.

It should not be timeout issue but may related to resource used by the browser become high when it is opened for a long time. Please open the Windows Task Manager and check the CPU and Memory usage for the chrome.exe when you next time run into it.

It just happened again, I have closed all Forms tabs and restarted Chrome. It happened even after doing those things, the task got renamed. The CPU utilization is 4% - 9% overall, less than 2% for Chrome.

While saving CPU usage on Chrome goes up to 19% but that still isn't capping my CPU.

Can you take a video next time when you run into it? And how long has you been working on that process when it happen?

Hi Xiuhong, our VAR @████████ figured out this problem! It is my LastPass Chrome plugin. When I am logged into the LassPass it seems to reset the Task Name and in the Save action, the Form name. When I am logged out of LastPass, everything works normally.

Is there anything that Laserfiche can do to prevent this from happening?

Hi Lidija, I tried LastPass and I was not able to reproduce the issue you ran into. Maybe there is any special AutoFill settings that you have configured for LastPass that cause this. But I think this may not be something that Laserfiche Forms can control as the you have granted LastPass the right to auto fill those inputs for you.
