The alternatives being MAPI or RPC instead of IMAP. No concerns at all just wondering if there are alternatives rather than just strictly using the IMAP for Email Approval Server.
The IMAP is the only supported protocol now.

RPC is (slowly) being deprecated for accessing Exchange. MAPI tends to be used when the full feature set of an Exchange server is needed (such as for Microsoft Outlook). IMAP is lighter weight in that respect in terms of the email approval implementation in Forms. We can look into adding support for MAPI if there is enough demand, but at this time, there are no significant differences to warrant it.
