change metadata fields from workflow

Hi!

I'm after a way of changing metadata fields in workflow. Not the contents, but removing and/or hiding the fields.

We have one field that gets added as temp notes that gets pushed into a Forms instance. after this its not used or needed. is there a way of removing the field from the document in WF?

How about hiding and unhiding fields. Or reorganising the order?

My template is long-ish and i'm hoping to tidy it up a bit for the end users.

Hello Mark,


It is possible to remove fields that were added to a document for temporary use but are not a part of the metadata template assigned. Once such a field has completed its purpose and is no longer needed, you can remove it by setting the field as blank in an Assign Field Values activity. Using this approach should help you keep your metadata neat and tidy for your users!

Hi!

Thanks for that. I didn't realise it would just disappear on its own if set to blank.

The field was already not part of the Template so it works now.
