Laserfiche Directory Server single sign-on - Adding Users to Laserfiche Discussions

asked on March 17, 2017

Hi,

I installed Laserfiche Directory Server on my server (computer A called "computerA"). Then I installed Laserfiche Rio Server and Laserfiche Discussions to another server (computer B).

Computer A and Computer B have no link (internet, vpn, wifi, or else).

Configuring Laserfiche Discussions need to add users. So my web adresse for the Laserfiche Directory Server Security Token Service is : "https://computerA/LFDSSTS",  right ?

Do I need to link computer B and computer A for add User? In my mind, this is just a token (like a serial) and we dont need to have access to computer A.

Thank you for all.

Regards.

The "security token" in "Security Token Service" refers to the credential received from Laserfiche Directory Server. There still needs to be a connection to LFDS in order to receive that token. Further, the address specified here is the address to which accessors will be directed to for login, just like any other Laserfiche web product using LFDSSTS.

Additionally, because SSL/TLS is required for use with LFDSSTS, be sure that the hostname of this URL matches the name on the certificate in use, to avoid certificate errors.

Two additional notes:

Then I installed Laserfiche Rio Server and Laserfiche Discussions to another server (computer B).

The machine where your Laserfiche Rio Server is installed needs a connection to the machine where your LFDS is installed, otherwise logins will fail and your license for the server will be invalidated.

However,

Do I need to link computer B and computer A for add User?

If the users accessible from computer A where LFDS is installed, you can in fact add the user to LFDS... you just cannot log in from computer B (Discussions or your Laserfiche repository) until computer B is linked to computer A.
