Question

Prop tree failed to get record.

asked on March 15, 2017

Hi all,

Out LFFTS service is writing errors every day until restart in the morning. Following error being written continuously in event log:

"Failed to modify the read-only search catalog <RepositoryName>."

Recently found the above error being written after below errors at the beginning:

"Prop tree failed to get record."

"Search catalog: GCEO-Documents, idx err: 7801."

"LFException: (Line: 0) Search catalog: null, idx err: null., Search catalog GCEO-Documents will restart."

Did anyone faced the same issue?

Hi Kirrubananthan,

It looks like your text catalogue is corrupt. I would try re-generating your LFFTS catalogue. You can follow this KB article on steps on how to achieve this.

Hope this helps! smiley

Hi Chris,

Restarting the service daily works fine, but it lose the write mode in the daily after working hours.

So I think there is not need to regenerating the catalog. If it is corrupted, then LFFTS must fail even after restart of service.

Check that your IDX files are excluded from your backup solution.....frown

That's not necessarily correct. LFFTS may load the catalog and only fail when it tries to access the corrupted part. Your errors seem to indicate that's what is happening: LFFTS hits the corrupted document then sets the catalog as read-only. Restarting the service makes the catalog read-write again and the whole thing repeats.

I'd go with Chris' suggestion of regenerating the catalog.

And since you will have to re-index your repository, if LFFTS is not already in parallel IO, I would follow steps in https://support.laserfiche.com/devnotes/viewer?name=LFFTS9.2%2FListOfChanges921 to turn on parallel IO before starting the re-index.
