Preserve PDF Annotation for Preserving Some Annotations

asked on March 15, 2017

We have some employees that as part of their work use adobe products and use that product's annotations , specifically they draw a circle on the document to bring attention to a certain item.  When this document is imported into laserfiche, the fill setting on this annotation gets changed from No Fill to White fill, making the area under the annotation unreadable.  (When these documents are imported or viewed on other programs, the annotation is preserved, its only laserfiche having this issue.)  The employees are able open the document in laserfiche, right click on the annotation, go to properties, and change the fill back to no fill, but that is an unnecessary 6 - 7 clicks, per annotation.  (Some documents have 50+ of these circles on them)

We are having this issue on both Web Access and Laserfiche Client, so I'm thinking that it is an issue when the file is imported, not the actual program viewing it.  We also have the "Preserve PDF annotations on Laserfiche pages" checked on the settings (see attached image).  Is there anyway to view the import settings?  Or is there some other issue here?  Or are we out of luck, and just need to have our employees find another way to annotate?

We are using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2015.023.20070 and are on Laserfiche 10.1.

Thanks

Laserfiche shape annotations don't support an opaque border with transparent fill color, so the pdf annotations end up fully opaque when they are converted. This will be partially fixed in 10.2.1 because of an unrelated bug (bug#154390) but the border will also become transparent so the annotation will be invisible. One workaround is to use highlight annotations instead of circles.
