Question

When sending LF Links via Email, is there a way you can get / add the location of the file being sent?

asked on March 11, 2017

Hi,

When sending Email LF Links, the title is visible, is there a way to have the option when selecting a Link or a Copy, to also have the location as a selection? So the user can then add the location of the file being sent?

This will make it easier, in case a user would like to open the client and view the file location being worked on and not just open the file?

Thoughts?

Hi Ziad,

Please check below Activity - Route Entry to Folder ,  we can display the Routed Entry Full Path from Token Selection.  (It will not be a link but a Path where document is routed ).

Hope this will solve your need.

Hi Sufyan,

Thank you so much for this information. Please excuse me, I mean directly from Laserfiche Client - when you right click a document and select Email Document, not through Workflow.

Thank you though as what you provided i know will come handy for another case for the client.

Thanks

Ziad

This is not currently possible, could you explain more about the use case? It seems like it would be simpler for the user to open the document properties and just copy the path, instead of adding this as a new email option.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your response in this, having it all in one window will definitely be beneficial as it is all on 1 screen and the user is then able to have an option to select Links and Path so when they are creating the email, the links are also visible instead of them having to right-click the file, go to properties and copy the path then paste it in the email.

The client has over 300,000 documents in Laserfiche within Folder structures and to have this available will def speed up a lot of processing. Especially when sending internal emails within the company to say here are all the documents i would like you to view for example and here are the links and the path locations for each by simply selecting them before sending the email.

Thoughts?

I created a feature request (#155701), we will look into getting this implemented in a future version.
