Question

Clone multiple fields in LF Forms

asked on March 7, 2017

Good morning,

You know how when you add a Table field in a form, you have the ability to duplicate whatever fields are in that form via an "Add" link or something, right?

So if I had a form that had 3 drop-downs, I could just click on that link and another 3 drop-downs appear at the bottom, right?

Is it possible to combine the Table field with other fields outside of the Table so that when you click on the "Add" link, it duplicates what's on the table, plus additional fields. Or is it possible to have a table within a table?

I'm ready to venture on this task, but wanted to ask first if this is an out-of-the-box solution or if someone has done something similar.

Thanks,

Raul Gonzalez

Well, this is something I hadn't run into before, but it looks like there's currently no way to put a table in a collection:

Hi Raul

You cannot have a table in a Collection on any of the Form versions. that being said, A collection can look and react like a table, the difference being a Collection can be any collection of fields, and when you add new rows, the Field headers will be shown for each row unless you hide them.

Here is an example of a Collection which looks like it has a table plus fields

Steve, yes, we are probably going to take that route.

That's a nice example. Thanks!

But can you add the Table inside the Collection?

I'm trying it without success.

It might even be considered poor design if it did. The idea evolved from another, but maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Thanks Jim, you saved me a lot of research.
