Question

Locking down the search result column view fields?

asked on March 4, 2017

Hi,

We have a client that uses Laserfiche to do a lot of searches every day. There are times that after a search, the fields assigned are being reset and the users will then have to repopulate the fields?

Just like we do with all folders to assign the metadata fields there, is there a way to lock down the search view? So that the fields we have selected are always the ones showing during our search? please see below screenshot of what we would like to make sure happens:

The above is what we would like to see after each search done, but there are times this resets and the user requires to select a saved column view.

Thank you

Ziad

Yes, this needs to be added manually in the admin console (web or desktop). See this help page for more information.

There is no way to force the search view to stay as it is, but it shouldn't be automatically saving a different set of columns unless the user actually adds those columns manually.

Seems as though it is based on a search, each time the user does a new search, the columns revert back to default view?

Thank you

Try setting the attribute [Options]AddTemplateColumns to No to disable the feature that automatically adds the template's fields when doing a template search.
