Question

Multiple errors generating report from Desktop Client LF 10.2

asked on March 1, 2017

We upgraded to 10.2 on February 28th (yesterday).

When generating a report from the LF Desktop Client version 10.2, not all the fields from my Search Results (LF Client source) are present in the csv file (LF Client export).

So I tried generating a report from the Web Client 10.2.  I was able to get all the fields from my Search Results (Web Client Export) to show up in the Excel file.

I then tried generating a report again from the LF Desktop Client using the Excel option.  This was even worse because I got an Error Code 6000 and no resulting file (LF Client error).

So my questions are:

  • How to fix the Error Code 6000 when downloading an Excel file in LF Desktop Client 10.2?
  • How to get all the fields downloaded in a csv file when downloading a file in LF Desktop Client 10.2?

Hi Michelle, the issue with the Number/DateTime columns being blank when downloading a report as a .csv file was filed in SCR# 154408. This is targeted to be fixed in 10.2.1. It seems to work fine from the Web Client or downloaded as an Excel file.

For the second issue when downloading the report as an Excel file, this has been filed in SCR# 154409 and is targeted to be fixed in 10.2.1. The workaround is to copy both ClosedXML.dll and DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Client Helper to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Client Helper.

Steven,  I hadn't seen anything in Answers regarding this.  Is there another source of information for open SCR#s where I might have found both items?

I will try the work around regarding the copy of the files to C:\Program Files from C:\Program Files (x86).   Thanks.

for anyone looking into this issue - the workaround did worked for us. but you'll need to copy over both of the DLLs and restart your machine for it to take effect. Ticket closed.

Hello Team - I am trying to get this to work within a workflow and am having issues with the DLL and compatibility. Does anyone have ClosedXML working within a workflow?  I was looking at this and it seemed that it would help me resolve this issue, however, this appears to be related to the client and not workflows

Recently updated my server to 10.2.1 update2 and I still get the error referenced in Steven's response:

For the second issue when downloading the report as an Excel file, this has been filed in SCR#154409 and is targeted to be fixed in 10.2.1.

This server was at 10.2 and I downloaded current LF Rio installer as of 10/25/17 and updated server to 10.2.1.998.

Hi Michelle,

Make sure both ClosedXML.dll and DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Client Helper are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Client Helper.

Steve, I made the change and this fixed the issue same as it did in my environment prior to 10.2.1.

When I installed 10.2.1 update2 I thought this would have been part of that update.  What did I miss in the release notes/list of changes?  Trying to make sure I don't miss an item like this in future updates.  Appreciate the help!
