Skewed Document issue in Quick Fields

asked on March 1, 2017 Show version history

Hello,

In Quick Fields(version 9)  Our process is that the user scans in a set of documents for AP Checks session to run.  When they are scanned into a network folder called "To be processed" all pages are straight.  Once QF Agent runs and processes that session, they are moved to the "Processed" (documents still straight) folder on the network, and are stored in the LF repository to be verified by the user.  We have noticed that once the document goes over into the LF repository this particular document is coming in skewed.  Now in the AP checks session we have applied the Deskew image enhancement for all pages and to detect skew by lines.  It seems to skew a particular document that is a Purchase order that is below: (FYI I have removed confidential info)

My thought is that those 2 hashed lines may be causing the enhancement not to deskew the document.  Could I get some insight on how I could fix this issue if there is a fix?

Thanks so much:)

Are you saying that the page was originally straight and Quick Fields seems to have caused it to become skewed?

I see. Does it get better results if you change the deskew process to use Text or Angle instead of Lines?

I have not tried them yet, because I was not sure if changing that would affect the other pages in the document.  I will reply back to you after I test them both.

Thanks

Hey Tessa,

So I changed the deskew to text, and it worked. I also tested the angle and it worked as well.  So at this point we have edited our AP Checks session so that the deskew enhancement reflect text instead of lines.  We will test this over a couple of day to make sure it has not affected another part of the session.  Thanks for your advice. Ill be sure to keep you updated.
