Import Agent mime type

I'm importing PDF files with Import Agent and the resulting document property type (mime type) ends up as application/unknown. When I manual import (via drag and drop) the same file it ends up with application/pdf, which is what I want. I could not find any import agent settings related to this. I also could not find any way in workflow to modify the mime type. Help?

Do you have Acrobat installed in the Import Agent machine? If not, please install it there.

Thank you Raymond, Installing Adobe Reader did solve the problem. We also had this issue with MS Office document types. We found that rather than installing applications the problem was also solved by added registry keys. Attached is an example for PDF content.

You are correct you can do it that way. We figured that it cannot hurt to have it on your server regardless. Glad it works for you.
