Empower Slide Presentation

asked on February 25, 2017

I found the February 2017 presentations on the support site.  When I click the download link a new browser tab opens and says  "You are unauthorized to download the file."

This has been going on for 48 hours and is applicable to iPad and Microsoft Edge Browser.

Someone must have recently corrected this because the downloads are working now. They weren't this morning. Thanks!

Yep, we've resolved the permissions issues. Let us know if there are any further problems.

Tessa,

   Thanks for fixing the permissions issue.

   Do you know if there's a single download that encompasses all of the presentations like for previous years?

Thanks,

Michael

Tessa,

Wow!!  Have always wanted to do this after the conference.  Thanks for taking the time to make it possible.  Keep up the good work.

This is also happening to me on Google Chrome (both desktop and mobile), Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Do you have download rights on the support site?

replied on February 27, 2017

This is working in Firefox Today

  1. Log into the support site
  2. Paste this URL

https://support.laserfiche.com/search?q=empower%202017%20presentation&category=Downloads&page=1&byDate=false

To go directly to the session you want to download follow this example

BUS110: Scrum, Part 1: An Introduction - the URL below uses the BUS110 session number to retrieve the PowerPoint.  Just replace the bus110 with the session you want to download and it will go there directly.

Sharon, this only works for you because you are a VAR I'm assuming.  Permissions still aren't allowing users to download the files.  This isn't a browser issue it is a permissions issue.

When you click the download link it redirects to a URL such as this: https://infrapi.laserfiche.com/api//files/3553/download and we receive the message "You are unauthorized to download the file."

If you remove the "/download" at the end of the link (e.g. https://infrapi.laserfiche.com/api//files/3553 ) you will receive some information about the file, including the following details:

{"fileId":3624,"groupId":0,"audienceName":"Admin","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":true}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":1,"audienceName":"End User","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":false}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":3,"audienceName":"VAR","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":true}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":4,"audienceName":"Demo VAR","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":false}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":5,"audienceName":"Laserfiche Internal User","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":true}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":6,"audienceName":"Community User","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":false}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":8,"audienceName":"Anonymous User","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":false}
{"fileId":3624,"groupId":9,"audienceName":"ACE User","browsePermission":true,"downloadPermission":true}

Can someone at Laserfiche please correct these permissions so that End Users/Community Users can access the Empower presentations please?

I'm getting the error message as well. Once that's resolved, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone from Laserfiche would provide a link to the entire collection, so that they don't have to be downloaded individually.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael and Rob,

I just added a user to my school.  Gave them rights to download and she can download the session PowerPoints.  This is not a VAR site or VAR employee.  She is a school employee.  Not sure what is wrong with everyone who cannot, as I cannot see anyone rights but our own.

Would start by checking  to see if you have download rights on the support website.  If you do, then maybe a support request is in order.

Sharon,

   The links seem to be working for me now.  Looks like Tessa fixed it.

Thanks,

Michael

Am unable to open any of the presentations.

As suggested by Michael Swanson, I, to, would like to be able to download all at once.

Hi Sheree,

   The link to download all of the presentations at once was provided by Tessa above. I'll paste it here as well. https://support.laserfiche.com/download/3632/empower-2017-conference-presentations

Thanks,

Michael

When I go to:  https://support.laserfiche.com/download/3632/empower-2017-conference-presentations I see nothing to download.  Clearly, I am missing something.  I have tried on Windows & Mac, Internet Explorer and Chrome.  Feeling confused.

Thank you,

Juli

The download link doesn't show up for me in Chrome, but it does in Firefox. It also shows up in Microsoft Edge.

Bummer.  Downloaded Firefox and it doesn't work for me there, either.  Tried it on a Mac from Firefox and Safari, as well.  No luck. sad

Thank you for your help, though, Michael.

You're quite welcome. I could try to upload the zip here, but they might frown on that as it's over 1.8 GB...

Juli do you have download rights on the support site?

Thank you, Michael!  Hopefully it won't come to that!  :)

Tessa, that's a great question!  I don't know!  I attended Empower and am logged in, but is there more to it?

Thank you,

juli

Go to your user profile by clicking your name in the upper right corner and selecting 'My Profile'. Then scroll down to the section that says 'Roles'. See if you have the 'Product Download Access' role.

Aha!  You are brilliant!  I have now requested that role!  Thank you!!!
