Question

Repository shortcut

asked on February 14, 2017 Show version history

I attended the Empower 2017 Conference and one of the items discussed was the ability to create a shortcut on my desktop to go directly to a specific location on my repository.  Unfortunately I do not recall the steps.  Can someone advise?

Thank you,

Sandy

Using the command line interface:

- Modify the desktop shortcut so that the parameters look like this:

LF.exe -l"RepositoryName" -Eentryid

where RepositoryName is the name of your repository andentryid is the id of the folder to jump to, e.g. LF.exe -L"RepositoryName" -E100

See he online help for more information.

Using the LFE shortcut method:

- Hold CTRL+SHIFT while dragging a folder out of the client and onto the desktop. This will create a file with the extension LFE that will open directly to that folder.

See the online help for more information.

You should be able to just click and drag the folder out to your desktop.  When I drag a folder out in create the .lfe shortcut.

If you'd like to create a desktop shortcut to a document in the web client, you can also:

  1. Navigate to the location in the web client
  2. Highlight the whole URL
  3. Drag and drop the URL from your browser on to your desktop
  4. The shortcut will open the web client to your desired location in your default browser

(Note: You'll have to authenticate if you don't already have an open session in your browser)
