Question

Fixed background image works in preview, but not in the live form

asked on February 13, 2017

I have set an image as my background via the Themes, and added this CSS:

body {
  background-repeat : no-repeat;
  background-position : center;
  background-attachment : fixed;
  background-size : cover;
}

The CSS came from an Empower 2017 class and fixed the image in the background as the form scrolls in front of it.

This works beautifully in the form preview, however, it doesn't work in the published form.  In the live form, the image is zoomed-in very close and scrolls with the form.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi Matthew,

The CSS works for me. Can you check if the form used in message start event is correct?

The form is actually triggered by a User Task, not the message start event.  And at the moment, it is the only form I have in my process.

It's just so weird to me that it works in the form preview, but not in the live form.

I'm guessing it may be because of the frame that the form is placed in when it's in the user task, with that header that has due dates and whatnot.  I'm examining that now.

You are right, the CSS does not work as expected on approve form page.

I have raised the issue and was waiting for developer to check if it's a bug or design issue. I will let you know if there is any update.

Thank you @████████

I spent a while yesterday in the "Inspect Element" view of the web browser trying to identify what was different in the live view and the preview view, and I couldn't figure it out.

Okay, thank you.  Image backgrounds like this make for really good looking forms, but my processes use forms in user tasks a lot more that process start forms, so until this is resolved, backgrounds don't really work for me.  sad

Hey @████████ - I'm still having this issue, nearly 2 years later.  I'm a little behind on LFForms updates, but I haven't seen anything about a resolution to this issue in the changes detailed with the upgrades, and I haven't heard from anyone at Laserfiche about the issue being resolved either.

I don't know if @████████or someone else could provide more details...
