Question

Can searches be done on extensions but using a variable?

asked on February 12, 2017

Hi,

We would like to know if it is possible to do Laserfiche searches on extensions, but instead of selecting multiple extensions to have a variable search?

i.e searching "x*" to pick up all excel file extensions including .xlsm, .xls, .xlsb etc?

This possible?

Thank you

Ziad

Hi Mr Ziad :)

You can do it with the "Search Syntax" option in the customise search.  Use ({LF:Ext="x*"})

That will find all files with the extension .xls .xlsx etc.

Call me if you are still stuck :)
