My IT Dept. has stopped me from importing any more docs to LF because I am setting off space alarms.
Am I able to go into existing docs and remove the generated pages of infrequently searched docs to make more room??

The quick answer is yes, you can delete the Laserfiche pages either manually through the client or with some scripting or custom workflow activities in a Workflow. (Although unless you are storing your docs as native PDF's deleting the pages would seem counterproductive)
A couple of thoughts;
If indeed you are storing your docs as PDF's you can configure your system to not generate Laserfiche pages on import
If not PDF's have you checked the resolution and format of the incoming documents? i.e. making sure that the resolution is not set to something really high like 600x600 or 1200x1200. Also make sure the documents are in an appropriate format; BW or gray-scale versus color for non-color documents?
I believe Laserfiche documentation suggests about 75KB per page for an average 8.5"x11" 300 dpi page.
