Question

"The user has not been allocated a named user license"

asked on February 6, 2017

I am pretty new to LF, so my apologies for not knowing all of the nuances...  we are getting the below error (which I've read all the other responses for).  I've tried to follow the directions on other questions listed in this forum, but I'm not seeing an option for Licensing Manager.  Any guidance for a newbie to LF would be great appreciated.  Thank you!

Full error:

Error Code: 9030

It doesn't look like you're using Rio, so the License Manager is not needed. You, or a Laserfiche administreator, can grant the user a named license through the Laserfiche Administration Console.

Thank you for the reply, Miruna.  I'm unable to connect to the repository in Admin Console.  What are the steps to grant myself (the user I'm logging in as which is the Administrator) a license through LF Admin Console?

You need to log into the repository in the Admin Console as a user with the Manage Trustees privilege. Then you can open the properties of the user you're trying to edit and assign them a named user license.

If you were trying to use the "admin" user, be aware that there is a limit of 2 concurrent connections if this user does not have a named user license. You may have to close other applications.

If there are no other connections to the server, it's possible that the license has expired so the server will not allow any connections.
