Is LZF-SRV running a Directory Server? Is your domain user an administrator for this server?
There should be a more detailed error message in the event viewer.
It is on a domain, with an account that has administrative rights on both servers. This is the same web server where I am installing all the other web services that license themselves to the LZF-SRV Directory Server. I am just trying to install the DS web application as well. There was no option in the Directory Server installer to install only the web application so I had to install a copy of the entire directory server service, then disable it. The only error I have in event viewer is the error about trying to reach itself, because it is disabled.
If I enable it, the web application automatically connects to itself and no longer gives me the option to enter a remote server.
There was no endpoint listening at http://lzf-web:5048/LicenseManager/service that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
Web Admin cannot manage a remote Laserfiche Directory Service at this time, just the one it's installed on. If LZF-SRV does not have a Directory Server running, then the message is accurate (though it could be clearer).
Got it. I was not sure if it was possible or not. You can only forward port 443 to a single server so we will use an alternate port for DS.
