Question

License Manager: Reconnect to a DB when connection is lost?

asked on February 3, 2017 Show version history

We have a situation where the License Manager (10.1) loses its connection to the database.  The reason for this is related to the network backups and is not a Laserfiche issue.

The error we get is identical to the one shown here:

http://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/54929/There-was-an-error-creating-a-connection-to-the-SQL-database-2029

My question is, when the License Manager loses its DB connection, does it try to re-connect?

TIA

Do you mean Laserfiche Directory Service 10 (LFDS)? If so, then, yes, LFDS will attempt to reconnect to SQL after loosing its connection.

If you meant License Manager, then the version only goes up to 8.3. The License Manager uses a SQLite database that's usually stored on the same machine. By default, the db file is saved under <ProgramData>\License Manager.

Hi Miruna -

I did mean LFDS, old vocabulary dies hard.  It's not reconnecting, so we'll explore this with support at the conference.

There should be a more detailed error message in the Event Viewer under Application and Services Logs\Laserfiche\Directory Service\Server\Operational Trace.
