Empower17 VM Available for Download

Hi everyone,

The Empower17 VM is now available for download here. You can find additional required specifications from the link as well.

If you have trouble with the download or need assistance setting things up, stop by the Information Center when you get to the Empower conference! See you there!

Do end users need rights to Download Products from the support site to download the VM?  We have a lot of users that are bringing their own laptops and would like to download this before hand.

I do not see a link to download the VM when I go to the page. Is this possibly because I do not have software download rights on my profile? If so, how can I obtain the VM ahead of Empower?

I am really excited now that there is less than a week to go...

Hi Ed, the Product Download Access role is indeed required to download the VM. You can request the role at https://support.laserfiche.com/requestroles/ and a User Admin in your organization can grant that role to you.

What exactly is this and do I need it on my computer before I attend the conference? New to Laserfiche. Any help would be great.

Hi Denny,

The virtual machine posted above is an environment that contains trial versions of Laserfiche software. This virtual machine (VM) is used in all lab courses at the conference and will be available on the laptops we provide in the classrooms.

If you are planning on bringing your own laptop, you can configure this VM on your machine ahead of time, or you can come to the Info Center on the first day of conference and we'll help you! It is not necessary to download this VM prior to your arrival.

Thank you. I am also not able to login into the APP. Is there a way that I can get access to it. My username and password do not work, yet I can sign in to this forum easy.

Thank you!   I am also unable to see the link to download the VM.  My question is:  On the Request Roles  (Product Download Access option) there is a question, "Who should we notify about this request?"  How do you know which person to select, or does it matter?

Jesse,

I replied to a message from Ed, but I received an email message from the Laserfiche Answers addressing Ed.  Is it possible that you have not yet granted me, Rochelle Womack, the proper role as I still am unable to see the link. Perhaps you granted the role to Ed and not me.  Please advise.

The virtual manager. Trying to get it on my computer in case IT has to log into an administrator.

You said you're new to Laserfiche and this site shows you as "guest", which means your account is not associated with a current Laserfiche customer. The download is only available to current users and resellers.

You can still get a copy, just not download it from the support site. Just stop by the Info Center at Empower after 10AM on Tuesday and you can get a copy loaded onto your machine.

As far as things your IT might do, the virtual machine requires VMWare Workstation Player 12 to run. If you don't have rights to install the software yourself, your IT could pre-install it for you before the conference. The other minimum requirements are:

  • 64-bit Windows 7 Professional1
  • VMWare Workstation Player 122
  • Intel i5 CPU
  • 8 GB of RAM3
  • 75 GB hard drive space, SSD recommended
  • Virtualization must be enabled on the laptop

We signed our agreement with Ricoh. Does that get me access to download the VM before?
