Question

network drives are invalid in quick fields

asked on January 27, 2017

My client is having an issue where they recently reinstalled QF and before they were able to use shared drive, but not they cannot. They can't open sessions saved on shared drives, and they can't add shared drives into universal capture(even when in UNC format), even though Windows explorer can clearly see the networked drives. The user has UAC completely off, and is on version 9 of quick fields and on Windows 10. Has anyone else experienced this? I used to think using the UNC format was a workaround but it doesn't seem to work now.

Are you sure you have the correct UNC path?

Mapped drives are not available to applications running with elevated rights in Windows 10, like Quick Fields does. But I can't reproduce the issue you're showing with UNC paths.

Correct, we went to the path in windows explorer(using the UNC path), and it loaded the folder with the test pdf we wanted it to load. We copied that address (\\oak\data\teal\tempweb\scan) from the address bar and directly pasted it into the location box.
