Question

When dragging and dropping document into LF Client, LF Client Display Window Shrinks

asked on January 26, 2017

Hello,

I have a user who is on 9.2.1 Service Pack 2 (9.2.1.673) of the LF Client and have a problem where initally the LF Application Window will launch and look normal. Once they upload or drag and drop a document from their desktop into the LF Window, the LF Client Window shrinks to a small thumbnail sized window and is not able to be maximized or altered at all. They have to close the program and reopen it.

I have made sure that they don't have display issue. This problem happens whether they have their laptop connected to a monitor or standalone.

Has anyone seen this before? They stated that users on 9.2.1.562 do not have this problem.

Thanks!

Please open a support case. My first guess would be that they have a 3rd party application (e.g. a virtual desktop program) that is interfering.

Hi, Charles

We have a user who is reporting what seems to be the same issue. I was wondering if you had found a solution, and if so what it was?

Thank you!

Rob

Robert,

I believe the following steps are what were taken to resolve the issue:

Step 1:
Select the Windows search box in the taskbar, enter run programs, and then select Run programs made for previous versions of Windows in the search results.
Step 2:
In the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter, select Next.
Step 3:
Select Laserfiche Client from the list, and then select Next.
Step 4:
Select Troubleshoot program, select Select this option to choose compatibility settings based on problems you notice, and then select Next.
Step 5:
Select The Program opens but doesn’t display correctly, and then select Next.
Step 6:
Select Test the Program to open the app with the new settings.  Try dragging a PDF into Laserfiche.  If it works, select Next and save the settings.

Thanks!

Hi, Charles

I have sent the steps to the client and I will update this post once I get the results.

Thank you for the reply!
