Question

Adding new repository fails?

asked on January 12, 2017

We have a VM that we got from Laserfiche training. The Laserfiche Sever name on this VM is LaserVM.

We are trying to add additional Repository to Laserfiche but it fails with following message.

We know the SQL server is working fine as it working for existing Repository.   The only think I am suspecting is that windows log in user account does not have rights to create a new DB on SQL.  What could be the reason?

see following for event viewer information:

Thank you

Hi Farzali,

The error indicates that the SQL server instance cannot be found. I'm not familiar with the LASERVM setup, but you should check in SQL whether the default instance is in use; you might have to specify an instance by name like LASERVM\Laserfiche. In the Laserfiche admin console, you can check the DBMS connection for an existing pre-configured repository and try to mimic the same values for the new one.

Hello James

Thank you for your help.  The issue was as you mentioned the SQL instance name that was missing.

All good now.

Appreciated
