How "Created by" property behave, when user account deleted from repository

In LF 10, when Laserfiche account deleted from repository, "Created by" property is blank for documents created by that user, when displaying document properties window. However in Laserfiche browser window, "Created by" column still populated with user name followed by asterisk.

When Windows account deleted from Active Directory, LF Administration console display SID of that account. Created by property of documents show blank, but in browser window Created By property column still populated with windows account name.

It seems that column Created by in Browser window not driven by actual document property. Or there are different sets of properties?

We are running Laserfiche for many years, currently on version 8.3. We not deleting users from repository, but disabling them only for purpose to maintain Created by properties of documents. We are planning to upgrade to version 10.x.

Is there are possibility to maintain Created By property for documents without maintaining inactive user accounts?

This is a bug, it should display the same in the properties dialog as it does in the browser column. We will look into fixing this (bug# 153540), until then the browser column can be used as the workaround.

Thank you Robert.

I just would like to make sure, that after repository upgrade (from LF 8.3 to 10.1) and removing inactive accounts, I will not loose values in Created by property for entries created by these users.

Also I understood, that this property temporary will be only displayed in Browser window, until issue is resolved.

In addition, currently accounts in repository set as LF users, with mapping to Windows accounts. After upgrade, I plan to convert all LF users to Windows Accounts. Will this operation propagate and change values in Created By document property?

The creator property will still be there after upgrading to 10.1. When you switch to domain accounts, any document created by that user will show the domain account as the creator. Under the hood it stores the account SID as the creator.
