Hi All,

I was moving documents on a system to a new volume so that I could export the volume from one system to another.The first 60% took 4 hours and the remaining took 2 weeks. The SQL server was getting thrashed and causing issues running other processes. Can anyone provide any insight into why this would take so long after the start of the move running so quickly?

The server is virtualised and the volumes are mounted on a SAN. They have 9 volumes and the documents were being found using a search and then using the client to move to the new volume. The documents were not on just one volume but split over all the volumes.

When I have moved documents in the office between volumes I have never seen such a slow down before and just curious if anyone could cast some light on the issue?
