Question

Identify Forms tasks by Variable?

asked on December 22, 2016

Hello!

So, working on our first form for production purposes and seeing a little issue.

In the "Tasks" view for users all of the tasks are listed by Task name and Process name and the like.  It would be much more useful to have variables there as column choices too.

Is there any way to  have the users identify which task is which, short of opening each one?

So far I'm asking them to keep their notification emails in a folder if they want to track which is which, but that is a clunky solution at best.

We were also surprised that the Search on the task page doesn't search the variable data.  Didn't find much use to it.

Thoughts?

You need to set what is called the Instance Name. This can be done by going to the Publishing page. When deciding on what the Instance Name will be, you can use variables from the forms in the process to dynamically name it. That will then show up with the task in the users My Tasks area.
