Is there a way that I can copy metadata from one document to another?

I know that I can select several documents and apply the same metadata to all of them at one time (select, right click, metadata), and I know that I can drag my "blank" document into my metadataed document and then drag those pages back out so that the formerly "blank" document will adopt the metadata that was originally on the metadataed mother document, but is there another way?
