Question

Roadmap/Laserfiche workflow

asked on December 5, 2016

Dears,

The below two functions have been removed from Laserfiche Roadmap

  • Laserfiche Cloud

Scheduled Q4 2016 updates for Laserfiche Cloud will include several updates to the Account Administration site. A new administration privilege will allow users to gain account administration rights; there will no longer be separate Administrator accounts. In addition, Laserfiche Cloud will include an ADFS integration to support single sign-on with an enterprise Windows environment. There will also be a streamlined process for signing up new solution providers.

  • Laserfiche Cloud

Laserfiche Cloud in 2017 (Q1) will add Laserfiche Workflow functionality, allowing users to organize documents automatically using workflows triggered by business processes or repository activity. There is also a planned integration with Office 365. Organizations using Office 365 will be able to configure their Laserfiche Cloud account to display and allow edits to Office documents using the Office 365 web apps.

Please to clarify about the Workflow support on a cloud environment- when it will be available?

thanks,

Business process automation in the Laserfiche Cloud will be available next year. Some of the activities from on-premises Workflow will not be initially supported.

I don't currently have a firm date. Some of the activities that will not be included in the initial release are the database activities, scripting and business process activities (both in Laserfiche and Forms). We'll publish more details as we get closer to a release.

Hi Miruna,

Do you have documentation about when the database activities will be added?

Not at this time. There are various security implications that need to be addressed for database activities to work since most system administrators will not allow direct access to the database from outside the company firewall. So the implementation is not as straightforward as for on-premises Workflow or Forms.

Like Quick Fields, can you connect an on-premise Workflow to a Laserfiche cloud account?
