Question

Zone OCR cannot recognize digits

asked on December 5, 2016

Dear All ... we are working on Quick field session and we applied Template to this session,

we have too many documents to scan and to be indexed then we want to apply stamps (i mean stamp with some digits like 6 digits) over the documents to be easy for indexing

we have  applied zone OCR in the right bottom on the documents ...now the problem is the Zone OCR cannot recognize the digits

Kindly find the attached files

Session.jpg explains the identification page

Session2.jpg explains the Conditions that we have done

Session3.jpg explains the Regular expression

we also did some changing in the formatting and conditions but we got the same

Thanks in advance and waiting for your reply

Hi Kareem,

Can you tell us what it says on the "Processing Information" and "Output" tabs after scanning the document? It seems like you are trying to read a four digit number but your regular expression is looking for a 6 digit number. Perhaps try using the regular expression \d+ which reads any number of digits.  Take a look at the following link to see a list of regular expressions:

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/quickfields/8.0/en-us/content/Regular%20Expression%20Reference.htm

Also, I would suggest using zoom fields and image enhancements to make it easier for QuickFields (zone ocr) to extract the content. Here are a few tips in improving OCR results:

Hope this helps!
